Photo Clock Tower

The clock tower was erected in the 16th century, first as a watchtower to protect the village and then it was used as a prison in safer times.

Topped by a wrought iron campanile, listed as a historical monument, a clock is installed on the façade. Inside the campanile is a highly accurate sundial dating from 1760 with the motto "Ruris et urbis normal laborum" (I regulate the work of the family and the fields) and a bell which was cast in 1712 to celebrate the winning of an interminable trial begun in 1346 which pitted the villagers against the Dukes of Blacas (co-Lords of Aups with the King of France) and bearing the inscription "I am the joy of everyone".
