Photo Fountain

The fountain was raised in the center of the village in the second part of the 18th century.

In 1770, the local noble suggested that the villagers should bring nearby spring water towards the castle and the pools in the castle gardens. In return, the villagers benefited two-thirds of the water from this collaboration (and still do today) thanks to an underground tunnel bringing it from the entrance of the village (at the end of the Allée des Tilleuls) till the fountain.
The construction of the fountain rhymed with modernity and marked the symbol of the end of a difficult water chore. Everyone could from then on draw the water necessary for domestic life. The fountain, like everywhere in Provence, was a meeting point for the villagers.
